摘要：A transmission method for use in a multi-hop wireless communication system,the system comprising a source apparatus, a destination apparatus and one or moreintermediate apparatuses, said source apparatus being operable to transmit informationin a communication direction along a series of links forming a communication path
extending from the source apparatus to the destination apparatus via the or eachintermediate apparatus, and the or each intermediate apparatus being operable toreceive information from a previous apparatus along the path and to transmit thereceived information to a subsequent apparatus along the path, the system having accessto a time-frequency format for use in assigning available transmission frequency
bandwidth for transmission in the communication direction during a discrete transmissioninterval, said format defining a plurality of transmission windows within such an interval,each window occupying a different part of that interval and having a frequency bandwidthprofile within said available transmission frequency bandwidth over its part of thatinterval, each said window being assignable for such a transmission interval to one of saidapparatuses for use in transmission, the method comprising: transmitting reservationinformation for use in a particular such transmission interval from a first one of saidapparatuses to a second one of said apparatuses, the second apparatus being the or oneof the intermediate apparatuses, and the reservation information specifying at least onetransmission window to be reserved of the particular transmission interval; and in thesecond apparatus, reserving the specified window(s) of the particular transmissioninterval in dependence upon the received reservation information.
