1. 用It is/was...that/who...
e.g. It was yesterday that he met Li Ping.
e.g. Was it yesterday that he met Li Ping?
(3)特殊疑问句的强调句型:被强调部分(通常是疑问代词或疑问副词)+is/was+it+that/who+其它部分?e.g. When and where was it that you were born?
2. not...until...
It is/was not until+被强调部分+that+其它部分: e.g. 普通句:He didn't go to bed until/till his wife came back.
It was not until his wife came back that he went to bed.
如:Do come early. He did send you a letter last week.
13. Is it he or you ________ in charge of the job and supposed to complete it punctually? A. who is B. that is C. who are D. whom are
参:
C
14. —Jenny is always ______ for appointments. Why is she late today?
— She might have got trapped in a traffic jam in the rush hour. A. patient B.
punctual C. grateful D. available 参: B

16. He was admitted to Harvard University, ____was just what his parents expected. A. who B. which C. what D. where
参:
B
17. How would you like if you were watching your favorite TV program and someone came into the room and just shut It off without asking you? A. them B. one C. those D. it
参:
D
18. Jack doesn’t smoke now, but he for almost twenty years.
A.was smoking B.smoked C.has smoked D.had smoked 参: B

Dear Jim,
I am writing to tell you something interesting. Last week, we held the Sixth Club Festival in our school. Starting from April 22, the week-long festival presented our school culture with a theme of “Colourful Life”. The Literature Society recommended many good books, encouraging us to get pleasure out of reading. The Photography Club put up an exhibition of photos to show “School Activities in Spring”. Sounds too quiet? The Roller Skating Club had something exciting! There was a contest among roller skating lovers and the winners put on a wonderful performance. We cheered and applauded for their fantastic show! The activities were not just for watching, we were expected to take part. Organized by the Movie Society, we exchanged and appreciated film reviews about our favorite movies, directors and actors.

When Jeanne Calment entered the world in 1875, telephones and automobiles still lay in the future. Albert Einstein and Pablo Picasso were not yet born. The Eiffel Tower was 14 years from being built. As a teenager, she met Vincent Van Gogh, near her home in Arles, in the south of France. He was “very ugly, ungracious (举止粗俗的), impolite, sick—I forgive him, they called him loco (精神失常的)”, she recalled. When she died last week at age 122, she was the world’s eldest person. (There are others who claimed to the title, but only Calment had the official documents to prove her age.)
Each February 21, her birthday, she would share the secrets of long life. Some years it was “a sense of humour”, others it was “keeping busy”. “God must
have forgotten me,” she once explained. The truth probably was that she had good genes: her mother reportedly lived to be 86 and her father 94.
Her life had its sadness: she outlived her husband, her only daughter and her grandson. According to a friend, she was imperturbable. “If you can’t do anything about it,” she reportedly said, “don’t worry about it.”
In her last years she was nearly blind and deaf, but her health remained good. She ate a few bars of chocolate each week and continued smoking until a few years ago, when she could no longer light her own cigarettes. She never lost her sense of humour. On her 110th
birthday, she commented, “I’ve only ever had one wrinkle, and I’m sitting on it. “Her longevity made her famous; her spirit made her eternal (永恒的).
41. Why does the author mention Albert Einstein, Pablo Picasso and the Eiffel Tower?
A. To show that Calment had seen famous people and things. B. To emphasize that Calment was born a long time ago. C. To indicate that Calment is just as famous. D. To admire the knowledge that Calment had.
42. The author believed that Calment’s longevity is mainly due to ______. A. a sense of humor B. being kept busy
C. belief in God D. good genes
43. The underlined word “imperturbable” means ________.

44. Toward the end of the story, the author seems to be impressed by Callment ’s _________.
A. spirit B. religious belief C. knowledge D. longevity

22. Photography has opened our eyes to a multitude of beauties, things we literally could not have seen before the invention of the frozen image. It has greatly expanded our notion of what is beautiful, what is aesthetically(审美上) pleasing. Items formerly considered trivial, and not worth an artist's paint, have been revealed and honored by the photograph: things as ordinary as a fence post, a chair, a vegetable. And as technology has developed, photographers have explored completely new points of view: those of the microscope, the eagle, the cosmos.
What is it that delights the human eye and allows us to claim that a photograph is beautiful?
Photography depends on the trinity of light composition, and moment. Light literally makes the recording of an image possible, but in the right hands, light in a photograph can make the image soar. The same is true with composition. What the photographer chooses to keep in or out of the frame is all that we will ever see - but that combination is vital. And the moment that the shutter is pressed, when an instant is frozen in time, provides the whole image with meaning. When the three - light, composition, and moment - are in balance, there is visual magic.
Light, composition, and moment come together in a photograph to bring us the ultimate reality: a view of the world unknown prior to the invention of the camera. Before photography, the basic artistic rules of painting were rarely broken. Images were made to please, not to capture reality. But as photography evolved, painterly rules were often reacted in the pursuit of fresh vision. Photographers became interested in the real world, good and bad, and it was the accidental detail that was celebrated. Photography invited the world to see with new eyes - to see photographically - and all of the arts have drawn new inspiration from this change.
With these basic aesthetic tools, photographers have evolved from scientists longing to “fix” an image — any image — to artistic revolutionaries. Photographs have created a new way of seeing, changed our ideas of beauty and, most importantly, made art more democratic. They have given us visual proof that the world is grander than we imagined, and that there is beauty, often overlooked, in nearly everything.
12. Before the invention of photography, which of the following was least likely to appear in an artistic work? A. A great person. B. A lovely insect. C. A grand building. D. A beautiful landscape.
13. What is the function of paragraph 2?
A. To argue that photographic beauty is subjective. B. To explain the evolution of the concept of beauty.
C. To describe the elements that make a successful photo. D. To illustrate different types of photographic techniques. 14. How has photography affected other art forms? A. It has reduced their popularity. B. It has forced them to change their rules. C. It has changed their methods of composition. D. It has provided them with new points of view.
15. What does the author mean by saying photography has “made art more democratic\" ? A. It has expanded the concept of artistic beauty. B. It has challenged the status of traditional art forms. C. It has enabled the development of new artistic tools. D. It has allowed more people to take part in creative activities.
