摘要：The example fiber (8) is coated using a unit (A) with one or more chambers (1). Ahalogen-containing gas (4) is fed into the chamber, where microwaves (5) convert it to a
plasma (6). The gas leaves via a nozzle (7). The fiber is treated over its entire length as itmoves along, at or near the nozzle or the plasma leaving it. The example fiber (8) iscoated using a unit (A) with one or more chambers (1). A halogen-containing gas (4) is fedinto the chamber, where microwaves (5) convert it to a plasma (6). The gas leaves via anozzle (7). The fiber is treated over its entire length as it moves along, at or near thenozzle or the plasma leaving it. In this way, the fiber is given a layer of halogen-containingpolymer as a result of plasma impingement upon it. The coating unit (A) has an annularnozzle (7), through which the fiber (8) is moved.
