Step 1 Lead-in Show the photos of Rio Olympics and after that, tell Ss “they win because they are strong enough ” T: What can you do to have a healthy body? S: Exercise Step 2 Presentation 1. T: when do you usually exercise? S: on weekends (=on the weekend) 2. tell Ss My Weekend Activities (present the adverbs of frequency for the first time) 教 学 过 程 3. Watch some pictures and ask Ss “What do you usually do on weekends?”. Practice the sentence structure “I usually do housework …” By doing this, Ss can review more phrases about weekend activities. 4. Look at pictures and make sentences like this: I always do some reading on weekends. By doing this, Ss can know better about the frequency words. Step 3 Grammar 1. Help Ss know the use of adverbs of frequency. always usually often sometimes hardly ever never 2. Make sentences by using the frequency words. Step 4 Listening 1. Look at the picture and finish 1a. Write and read these activities. 2. Listen and finish 1b and the blank fill-in. (For the first time, Ss don’t need to write down anything but catch the key Words.)

3. Listen and repeat. Step 5 Speaking 1. Practice the conversation in 1b 2. Group work: talk about what you do on weekends. 3. Practice more sentence structures and repeat the use of frequency words: What do you/ does he(she)/ do they do on weekends? Step 6 Summary 1. adverbs of frequency 2. sentence structure Step 7 Homework
