摘要： A surface inspection apparatus for inspecting a complex surface shape suchthat the paint surface of a car, and comprises a laser (31) providing a beam (26) ofradiation, a scanning member (39) for scanning the beam on the surface, retro-reflectivematerial being provided to reflect along the path of the reflected radiation beamincident from the surface, the apparatus comprising the retroreflective sheeting beingmounted as a unit to move above the surface of the car with the aid of a robot. Analysisof the light signal will reveal defects such as scratches, inclusion of paint, orange peel, dryspray, bumps and defects brilliant, and will distinguish the faults of features that must bepresent on the surface such as cracks doors.
