Differences Between Chinese and Western Education
It is universally acknowledged that there are many differences between the Chinese and western education.
On the one hand, it is fairly easy to discover these differences in school education. In Chinese schools, the educators are more willing to teach their students the basical knowledge. In other words, they teach their students \"what is it, why it will be that and how to do?\". While in western schools, the educators are more likely to teach their students how to learn, and they attach importance to how to promote their students' ability of learning and creativity. On the other hand, these differences also are evident on the family education. In the Chinese family, parents for the most part ask their children to do everything well. At the same time, they are usually considered to overprotect their children.
As an outcome, the children in China look more quiet and shy especially in the social activity. What's more, Chinese students' mental heathy and creativity are not good as the children who study and live in western countries. While the western children are more active, curious and creative. Besides, they are more independent and have a stronger personality as an individual among the society.
Undoubtedly, there are diversities of factors accounting for these differences.First of all, different cultures have different values and thinking ways. Therefore, different country's educational way is also
different. Additionally, in China, it vital for students to get a good exam result, since it is relative to their admission to higher education degree.
As a Chinese student, I really hope that our education can make some genuine transform in order to make students more independent, more curious and know how to learn by themselves as soon as possible. Just in this way can our belove country has a brighter future!
