Honestly speaking, although I finished this movie, I could not grasp its main idea precisely. I always believe that every movie is a child of his director, and that is to say , maybe only the director can tell us the accurate idea he want to convey to us . So I just talk about some of my personal thoughts towards this movie.
The movie shows us a fantastic life of man who seems to own magic power, but I prefer calling this power overwhelming courage and spirit of adventure. As a father who loves his son deeply, he always indulges in telling his stories to his son. But his son never believe them and even don’t talk to his father for 3 years until his father is dying because of the serious disease. The disease becomes the chance the son research into his father. Finally, the son finds that his father never cheat his mother and all of his stories are not the fairy tales, since they are true. At the end of the movie, the father turns into a big fish and finishes all his wonderful life , with all people waving happily to him.
There are actually lots of plots impressing me. For example, 【00:38:34】But the truth is, I'm just not ready to end up anywhere. 【00:54:12】I'll find that girl, marry her, and spend the rest of my life with her. 【00:58:24】That night, I discovered that most things you consider evil or wicked are simply lonely and lacking in social niceties.【01:03:04】 The ship has sailed, and that only a fool will continue.Truth is, I've always been a fool.【01:04:21】I told them it was the only way to get my wife to marry me.
I select these sentences from the movie for the reason that they truly moved me. When Edward met the best place in the world, he still didn’t stop
his steps. I really appreciate him for his spirit of adventure and that he was a person who knew where to go. In my opinion, people who can be called wise must own this kind of quality. In other word, he should not be greedy to catch the temporary enjoyment, while he should be up-and-coming.
The scene that when the girl opened the window, her favorite flowers were full of her eyes left me a deep impression. And the sentence‘I told them it was the only way to get my wife to marry me. ’maybe is the most romatic word in the girl’s life. Edward’ life only exists 2 women. One is his wife, and the other is anyone else, which I think this sort of love is the target of all women.
As it is, this movie brings me lots of deep thoughts such as the emotion between father and son, etc.
