摘要:1,200,121. Emptying cigarette containers; cigarette trays; endless conveyers;feeding cigarettes to a hopper. A. SERAGNOLI, E. SERAGNOLI and M. C. SERAGNOLI,[trading as G.D. S.A.S. DE ENZO SERAGNOLI E ARIOSTO SERAGNOLI]. 18 July, 1967 [28July, 1966], No. 32861/67. Headings B8A, B8C, B8D and B8S. Apparatus for emptyingcigarette trays into a hopper supplying a packaging machine includes a head rotatableabout a horizontal axis and capable of supporting two or more trays symmetricallyrelative to the axis, the head receiving filled trays and rotating to invert them over thehopper. While one tray is discharging, another is in a position to be removed andreplaced. Infeed and outfeed conveyers.-Filled containers are fed in by conveyer chains62, 63 and the empties discharged by chains , 65. The conveyers are arranged to permittrays to be slid on to them and discharged at right angles to their direction of travel. Thechains carry two forms of support bar, Fig. 10, one, 191, having rollers 194 which engagethe base of a tray and the other 190, of which there are several for each tray supported, having rollers 193 engaging the rear wall 105b, Fig. 11. Dogs 217, 218, Fig. 1, onreciprocating overhead conveyer chains 204, 205 slide the trays off and on to the inletand discharge conveyers. Emptying containers.-The rotary head 98 carries two trays, each
with their open faces against central webs 101 and their bases initially supported by astepped portion 103. Catches (158, 159, 1581, 1591), Fig. 3 (not shown), protrude throughthe end plates 99, 991 of the head to hold them against the webs and pivoted bars (112,1121, 113, 1131), Fig. 3, engage along the length of the open top. In their inner position, these bars overlap the ends of the uppermost layer of cigarettes, retaining them in placeduring rotation. A filled tray is fed by the overhead conveyer into position in front of thehead and is pushed on to the portion 103 and against the web 101 by a reciprocatingmember 179. The member 179 includes an electromagnet 232 for engaging the traywhich is of magnetic material. The tray is secured in the head by the catches. The headthen rotates and the bars withdraw, permitting the cigarettes to fall into the hopper 233.While this is taking place, an empty container is fed to the discharge conveyer andreplaced by a filled one. The apparatus is controlled by photo-electric means monitoringthe cigarettes in the hopper. A pusher 229 discharges empties from the chains , 65.
