Unit16 What’s going to happen next?

Teaching aims and demands:

★.学会用英语对自己下一阶段的学习、生活、假期等做出计划 ★能够做1分钟话题表述Growing up Expressions in communication: ★Who is our excellent painter?

★Many of you did very well in the past few months. ★Today is your lucky day.

★Vicky always does well in her homework. ★She’s an excellent student. ★Keep up the good work. ★I’m very happy for you. ★You did an excellent job.

★He always helps me with my English. ★She will go on learning English. ★We should learn from her. Key words and expressions:

keep, progress, test, add, liquid, wooden, pulp, bowl, mesh, wire, press, towel, castle, basement, rich 鼓励、表扬语:

excellent, congratulations, well-done, great

重点词组:

in the past few months, do well in, learn from sb. , help sb. with, go on doing sth., keep up, work hard on, give up, make progress Materials for teaching:

Part1: (见新知堂网络课件 part 1)

因为这单元的重点是通过学习找到自己的长处,树立学习的信心。所以教师可以通过一系列的提问导到课堂上。

Teacher can ask some questions:

Today is your lucky day.Many of you did well in the past few months.Now today we’re going to choose the best students and give them some nice presents.let’s see who is the best singer?Then teacher can give “the great singer”奖状发给这个学生,Then teacher can ask “who is the great actor?”教师应寻找更多的机会让学生都能表现一下自己。 Then let the pupils look at the pictures, answer some questions and describe it. 2nd: Let pupils listen to the tape and repeat sentene by sentence. 3rd: Let pupils make a composition: Growing up. Activity 2

Part2: (见新知堂网络课件 part 2)

教师可以给学生创造一个场景,通过一些列的问题引出第二部分。 1st: Give pupils a setence and let them try to talk about it.

2nd: Let pupils listen to the tape and repeat sentence by sentence. 3rd: Two pupils in group to practise. 4th: Role play. Activity 3

Part 3: (见新知堂网络课件 part 3)

1st: Let teacher explain the summer programme one by one, then let pupils talk about it. 2nd: Find some pupils to say one by one. Activity 4

Part 4: (见新知堂网络课件 part 4)

这部分是个小实验,教师的目的是帮助学生理解如何做这个实验。 1st: Teacher can let pupils talk about the paper. 2nd: Teacher can explain the new words.

3rd: Teacher can explain the meaning of the story(见课件)。 Activity 5

Part 5: (见新知堂网络课件 part 5) 1st: Teacher can ask pupils some questions: Have you got any good friends? Who is your best friend?

Is your best friend a boy or a girl?

What do you often do with your best friends? Can you say something about your friends? How old is your friend?

Do you often come to school together?

2nd: Let pupils make a short composition( My best friend ) according to the answers. 3rd: Let pupils look at the book and make their compositions again. They don’t tell the fridnd’s name, let the others to guess. Activity 6

Part 6: (见新知堂网络课件 part 6)

Teacher can explain the sentences, then pupils can talk about it. Activity 7

Part7: (见新知堂网络课件 part 7) Listen to the tape and sing it. Activity 8

Part8: (见新知堂网络课件 part 1)

1st: Teacher can ask pupils some questions。

※ Do you like animals?and what kind of animals do you like? ※ Do you like to go to the zoo often and stay with the animals?

※ Do you want to be a zoo keeper?and should we treat animals nicely ? ※ Should we protect animals?

2nd:Teacher can explain the new words.

3rd: Teacher can tell pupils the general meaning of the story. 4th: Let pupils read the short passage, then practise it. Activity 8
