摘要：A tracking control device for controlling the positions of magnetic headsmounted on a bimorph relative to a recording medium. The device comprises means (12)for detecting the transport speed of the recording medium; means (13) for generating a
first drive signal (STT) in response to the output of the transport speed detecting means(12); means (22, 23) for detecting the position (x) of the recording medium; means (24) forgenerating a second drive signal (STK) in response to the output of the positiondetecting means (22) and the output of the speed detecting means (12); means (42) fordetecting any track deviation in response to the output of each head (Sa, Sb); means (43)for generating a third drive signal (STC) in response to the output of the deviationdetecting means (42); means (61) for adding the first (STT), second (STK) and third (STC)drive signals; and means (62, 63) for supplying the output of the adding means (61) to thebimorph; wherein at least two of magnetic heads are so disposed as to have an offsettherebetween, and the drive signal generating means (13, 24, 43) are controlled on thebasis of the difference between the envelope signals output from the heads. In thisdevice, proper tracking can be ensured or at least approximated continuously despiteany external factors of disturbance.
